UK's 1st school Virtual Reality Suite opened
UK's first dedicated school Virtual Reality Suite opened by Victoria Prentis
It was a very exciting morning at Banbury Aspirations Campus when a new Virtual Reality suite was officially launched by Victoria Prentis MP on Friday 10th February 2017. Invited guests, including the Mayor of Banbury and prominent business people from the local community, were given the opportunity to try virtual reality for themselves. There was much fun, lots of arm waving and a sense of wonder at how immersive the experience was.
BBC Oxford were on hand to film the event, interviewing students and staff, for their news programme that evening. Our students were very enthusiastic and extremely articulate about the pioneering VR projects they have been developing in this permanent Virtual Reality suite.
Victoria Prentis tweeted "It was a pleasure (& v. fun!) to officially open @spacebanbury's Virtual Reality Suite on Friday. A great resource for students."
The VR suite, using room-scale HTC Vive technology, is a creative collaboration between Banbury Aspirations Campus and local software company Playko. Together they aim to involve everyone in shaping the future using emerging VR technology.
